When moving internationally, your belongings need to be properly sorted into categories such as sea freight, air freight, items staying in Japan, and items to be disposed of.
If our movers need to ask about each individual item on packing day, however, the process can take longer and require more of your time.
To make your international move as quick, careful, and smooth as possible, AGEX asks for your cooperation in using color-coded sticky notes before our packing team arrives.
1. We Will Send You an A4 Instruction Sheet and Stick Notes with Your Moving Boxes
When we deliver your moving boxes in advance, we will also include an A4 instruction sheet explaining how to use the color-coded sticky notes, along with the sticky notes themselves, in a clear folder.
Once your moving boxes arrive, please check the instruction sheet and sticky notes. Before our packing team arrives, please attach the appropriate sticky note to a clearly visible area of each item to be packed, including furniture and smaller household items.
This allows our movers to identify each item’s destination at a glance, without having to repeatedly ask questions such as, “Is this going by sea?” or “Is this going by air?”
The color coding is as follows:
- Blue: Sea Freight
- Purple: Air Freight
- Dark Pink: Disposal
- White: Staying in Japan
Please make sure each sticky note is firmly attached in a clearly visible location. If a sticky note falls off, our movers may not be able to determine which category the item belongs to.
Your cooperation helps us complete the packing process more efficiently and accurately.
2. Please Do Not Pack Passports, Cash, or Other Valuables in Moving Boxes
Please do not place passports, cash, wallets, jewelry, or other valuables in your moving boxes.
We recommend keeping all valuables with you in your suitcase or carry-on baggage.
Before our packing team begins work, please double-check that no valuables have accidentally been placed inside any moving boxes.
